The exhibition “HAAR – MACHT – LUST” at Kunsthalle München invites visitors on a timulating, sensory, and surprising journey through three millennia of the art and cultural history of hair. TUM Center for Culture and Arts is collaborating with Kunsthalle to present a series of accompanying lectures.

Blonde hair stands for purity, seduction—and a persistent cliché. This lecture traces the cultural history of blonde hair from antiquity to Hollywood and shows how an ideal became the stereotype of the “dumb blonde”—between myth, mass media, and pop culture. An entertaining and insightful journey through projections, role models, and prejudices that continue to have an impact today.

Ralf Junkerjürgen is a professor of Romance languages at the University of Regensburg. His research focuses on popular culture, narratology, reception aesthetics, and film.

  • Admission: € 5 / € 3, tickets will be available soon at the Kunsthalle website.
  • As part of the cooperation, a limited number of free tickets is available exclusively for TUM students
  • Registration is required for this offer.

The lecture will take place in the Garden Salon of the Kunsthalle Munich and will be held in German.
